IMPORTANT AFB ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCEMENT: Fiona McBride and James Neill News

“After much consideration, AFB Director of Practice & Events,  Fiona McBride, has resigned from her role at the AFB.

I know that this was not an easy decision for Fiona to make, especially as she said she will be leaving such a warm, welcoming and professional team.  However, for health reasons, and also because of not being able to see her family for such a long time, she has decided to take an extended break from City life after 30 consecutive years.  I know that Fiona is really looking forward to spending time with family and friends before embarking on her next chapter some time in 2022, when she hopes to start her own business.

Fiona has been a much-appreciated member of the AFB family and I am sorry to see her go.  At the same time, I know she has made a decision which is right for her; and I know you will all join me in wishing her all the very best with the next phase of her life and career.  Fiona’s last day at AFB will be 12 November 2021.

I am very pleased to tell you that James Neill has agreed to take over the reins from Fiona on an interim basis.  This will mean that Events and Training will come together under a single leader at the AFB, which is a sensible strategic move.  As you all know, James will bring his holistic banking knowledge, his knowledge of the AFB and his training experience to the role.  I’m delighted that James has agreed to take this role – and the great thing is that I have discussed this solution with Fiona and we have her full confidence that it will work well for everyone.”
