AFB Seminar: Understanding the Impact of the EU Pay Transparency Directive

AFB and Deloitte invite you to attend an in-person seminar exploring the requirements of the EU Pay Transparency Directive (the Directive).  The Directive came into force in June 2023.  EU member countries have until June 2026 to implement the Directive.

The Directive introduces a series of new obligations to bolster current equal pay protections, such as mandatory gender pay gap reporting (on a much more granular level than UK requirements); mandatory pay assessments with employee representatives where there is an unjustified gender pay gap of more than 5%; providing workers with the gender neutral and objective criteria used for pay and pay progression; providing workers with information on average pay broken down by sex of those doing the same work or work of equal value; and providing information to candidates on pay levels for the role being applied for.

Why attend?

The requirements will apply to organisations which employ staff in EU Member States and therefore will be relevant to any UK-based staff that have responsibility for EU-based workers. Although the requirements are not applicable in the UK, any organisations that have EU operations may consider applying them in the UK for consistency. This seminar will allow AFB members to understand the requirements and consider how it will affect their business and what steps to take in readiness for greater transparency.

Who should attend?

This session is aimed at those working in People, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Reward functions.

What will members gain for use at their bank?

  • An understanding of key obligations set out in the Directive
  • Awareness of the risks involved in disclosures to job seekers and employees, and equal pay/discrimination claims
  • Guidance on how to prepare their bank for greater compliance
  • Guidance on how to identify and address any potential issues in disclosures in advance
