Climate Risk Certificate

The Certificate in Climate Risk is a globally recognised qualification designed to equip financial services professionals with the knowledge and skills to identify, assess and manage climate-related financial risks. The programme provides a comprehensive understanding of climate change, climate risk and sustainable finance, supporting organisations as they transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.

Designed for professionals working across financial services, the qualification develops practical knowledge of physical and transition risks, climate risk measurement and modelling, governance, regulatory expectations, and the integration of climate risk into enterprise risk management frameworks. While no prior knowledge of climate risk is required, an understanding of risk management principles is recommended.

The course includes:

  • Flexible, guided online self-study supported by interactive e-learning resources, case studies, knowledge checks and examination preparation materials
  • Study at your own pace over a 12-month registration period
  • A 90-minute remotely invigilated online multiple-choice examination
  • Annual membership of The Chartered Banker Institute, with the first year’s subscription of £45 included in the course fee
  • Successful learners will receive a digital certificate and be entitled to use the professional designation Cert CRP (Certified Climate Risk Professional)
