AFB Sponsored Roundtable: Get Ahead in Regulatory Reporting – Re-thinking Data, Architecture and Technology

As regulatory expectations evolve across the UK, EU and wider global landscape, financial institutions are under increasing pressure to modernise their regulatory reporting frameworks. Legacy systems, fragmented data sources and static reporting templates are no longer sufficient in an environment moving rapidly toward intelligent, data‑driven and AI‑enabled supervision.

This AFB Sponsored Roundtable, supported by Suade, will bring together AFB members to explore the strategic, architectural and technological shifts required to build resilient, future‑proof reporting capabilities.

The session will cover the following areas:

  • Moving from static, template‑based reporting to intelligent, data‑driven ecosystems
  • Shifting from siloed processes to interconnected data platforms that support analytics and AI‑driven insights
  • The role of standardisation in efficiency and scalability, while balancing consistency with flexibility across jurisdictions and business models
  • Building integration‑first, API driven architectures designed for an AI enabled, rules‑intensive future
  • Rethinking control, transparency and auditability through lineage‑rich, automated modern reporting

We are grateful to Scotiabank for hosting this roundtable.

Why attend?

This session will give AFB member firms a practical and technical roadmap for modernising regulatory reporting around smarter data, future‑proof architectures and AI enabled automation. You’ll walk away with clear principles on standardisation, integration‑first design and control‑by‑design, all tailored to evolving PRA/BoE and EU/UK expectations.

AFB will circulate an agenda and a series of questions to attendees in advance which will be used to aid discussions.

The Chatham House Rule will apply to this event to encourage open dialogue and discussion.

There will be refreshments and networking from 15:45 before the roundtable discussion commences at 16:15 and afterwards from 17:45.

Please note there will be a limit of one representative from each AFB member to allow a wider range of firms to attend and benefit from the discussion

Who should attend?

Senior members from the risk and finance functions of member firms (e.g. CRO, CFO, Head of Reg) with responsibility for these topics, as well as those interested driving transformation, leveraging emerging technologies, and strengthening governance, transparency, and efficiency in reporting and data management.
